ProductsDNV BV ABS Certified Marine grade 5083 aluminium plate alloy sheet for shipping building use Aluminium Alloy Plates are medium strength alloy plates with exceptional corrosion resistance. Aluminum sheet plates are created by surpassing aluminum between rolls underneath pressure, it becomes thinnerand longer in the moving direction. 5083 aluminium alloy plate is an aluminium alloy with magnesium and traces of manganese and chromium. It is highly resistant to attack by seawater and industrial chemicals. Alloy 5083 retains exceptional strength after welding Aluminium 5083 alloy sheet is known for exceptional performance in extreme environments. 5083 is highly resistant to attack by both seawater and industrial chemical environments. Alloy 5083 also retains exceptional strength after welding. It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but is not recommended for use in temperatures in excess of 65°C. Applications Alloy 5083 is typically used in: ~ Shipbuilding ~ Rail cars ~ Vehicle bodies ~ Tip truck bodies ~ Mine skips and cages ~ Pressure vessels Mechanical Properties shown are for 0/H111 temper Aluminium alloy 5083 contains 5.2% magnesium, 0.1% manganese and 0.1% chromium. In the tempered condition, it is strong, and retains good formability due to excellent ductility. 5083 has high resistance to corrosion, and is used in marine applications. It has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity common to all aluminium alloys. 5083 H116/H321 aluminum sheet is used as marine aluminum sheet. The mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and welding performance are relatively superior, mainly for the strake, hull structure of the bending plate and on the outboard plate 5083-H111 aluminum is 5083 aluminum in the H111 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is strain hardened to a strength that is lower than what is permissible for H11 (1/8-hard). BS EN 485-2:2008 aluminum Sheet 0.2 - 6.3mm Thick |
